Week of June 13, 2016
While we pause to mourn the victims of the weekend's horrific attacks, we also share with pride this ongoing fundraising campaign for their families, organized by business-in-residence LaunchGood, a crowdfunding platform for the global Muslim community. They've already raised almost $40,000. Please help us spread the word, not only to support the fundraising campaign, but also to share the under-reported story of American Muslims working as allies with the LGBT community and standing united against hate and violence.

During community lunch this week, we heard from graphic designer & researcher Danielle Aubert of CLANADA. She discussed her Paper Rehabilitation Project, an attempt to collect, archive and make use of scrap paper by turning it into blank books.

We're so proud of Nehe-miah Scarborough, a student at Detroit Cristo Rey High School who's spent this year working one day a week at the Green Garage. In an incredible speech to the school and area work-study partners last week, she described the "secret lessons" she learned from working here, where she encountered the "unprecedented imagination" of our diverse community of businesses.
