We had some special guests for happy hour this month: former Green Garger Lester Gouvia and his son Gregory! They pulled their authentic Caribbean food truck right up to our three season room window and served our residents a knockout selection of Norma G's fare.

Field trip! On Wednesday a group of Green Garage residents headed a couple blocks south for a tour of our sister project, the recently restored El Moore.

We had a special guest during last Friday's community lunch: Mayor Mike Duggan! He joined us for a community conversation about the spirit of Detroit today. The mayor, a handful of our businesses, and members of the community around us all took the opportunity to share their thoughts on topics like education, entrepreneurship, and neighborhood revitalization.

Here's Sarah Szurpicki from public policy consulting firm-in-residence New Solutions Group working from the Green Garage's indoor/outdoor 3 season room.
During our weekly walk around the neighborhood, we visited local artist Robert Sestok, who has lived and worked in the Cass Corridor for decades. He showed us around City Sculpture, his remarkable new sculpture park, which is set to open on Friday, July 10. Learn more about it here.

Business-in-residence Red Panda is participating in Circuits to Cure Cancer, a group of guitar pedal builders, retailers, reviewers, and musicians who are donating either products or time to help raise money for St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. Red Panda is offering two special pedals, hand-painted by pedal builder and Detroit artist Sylvie Demers, for auction -- see them both here!
