The solid blue line is drawn at 32^F. You can see that the indoor temperature of the existing building (solid black line) closely follows the outdoor temperature (dashed black line). There is no solar gain because there are no windows in the existing building.

With the proposed new envelope in place, the building temperature and the outdoor temperature are much farther apart. This is telling us that the super insulated strategy is working. In the winter, the building won't quite get below freezing, even though the outside air temperature is well below freezing.
