The concept

Outcome

Develop an online presence for the Green Garage that will keep our information, help us to connect with others, and help us share information with others.

• Economic Energy and Justice: Will provide access to this type of information to a community unable to access it another way.

Scope

Includes

• New separate wiki
• Green Garage blog
• Facebook page for the Green Garage
• Flickr page for our photos
• YouTube page for our videos

Key Questions

• What components do we want on our wiki?
• When do we want to get it up?
• Is our blog set up correctly and can we integrate it with other components?
• How soon do we want to get the Facebook page up, and who can we invite?
• What is the purpose of our Facebook page?

Assumptions

• We want a wiki website to share information.
• We want a presence on Facebook for social networking and spreading the word on events.
• We want to store and share photos and videos on Flickr and YouTube.
• We want a blog to share current happenings and to chronicle the history of the Green Garage development.

The approach

Meeting: 9-17-08

Here's what we have done so far:

• Look at The Green Garage Foundational Elements page and edit to produce final product
• Call Dwight to get wiki up - wiki is up. Wiki: greengaragedetroit.

Here's what we did on the 17th:

• Drew info architecture on large sheet. Hang up.
• Took photos that go around the building, inside and outside (as a record).

To do next

• Develop ideas for wiki page - info architecture.
• Begin loading material onto new wiki.
• Look at Flickr and YouTube pages and determine if they are set up right.
• Look at TypePad vs Blogger.

Meeting: 9-24-08

• We developed a page for URLs, IDs and Passwords
• We set up the iGoogle page.
• We examined Flickr, YouTube and Facebook pages. Helen will set up accounts in first 2.
• Need to work with Helen on uploading video.
